Born into a predominantly French speaking family, Roger learned to speak English by watching television and movies. At an early age, he taught himself to read and write the language by reading road signs, advertisements and the Sears Christmas Wish Book. It is fitting, then, that he would eventually turn towards careers in screenwriting and copywriting. As a teenager Roger dabbled in drawing, music, poetry and short fiction, finally setting his sights on a degree in Creative Writing. However, in a long shot attempt to turn his life-long obsession with film and television into a career, he applied to York University’s film program. Once accepted, he has never looked back. After obtaining a BFA in Film and Video Production in 2002, Roger decided to settle in Toronto and devote his time to developing his own screenplays. He has written several television pilots and feature films in the horror and science fiction genres. In 2009, Roger wrote several corporate videos for nValeo, which then lead to assignments writing their web copy, brochures and press releases. Since then, he has continued to pursue and explore the various facets of copywriting, while simultaneously developing his own scripts. He has an affinity for coffee that was born out of necessity.
